now don't be sexist

Seems that all drivers featured here is female.
(I'm not insulting myself!)
I don't know how they manage to get their driving license but they did.

Enjoy! =D

on the spot

Johnny, Andy and me went shopping for shuttle cocks yesterday. (we're playing badminton on coming Tuesday) Jalan jalan, we saw this guy life drawing people (in just 10 minutes) in Pyramid. Ok we weren't exactly jalan-jalan-ing, we just left the candy shop after free-tasting about half the things sold in that shop and Johnny getting (hateful) stares from the workers. I think we stood for half an hour just staring at the guy doing his work. It's wonderful even to just watch. Really. =)

He's drawing his second customer (for the time we stood there).
The first was a Chinese guy.

Johnny: I bet he'll charge this lady more than he charged the Chinese guy.
Andy: Why?
Johnny: Coz he'll need to use half (or more) of his charcoal stick to draw this girl.
CheaWen: Racist giler!
Johnny: Hahahahah!

Left to right: The model, the model's sis, the artist,
the racist and the half-headless.
Okie okie okie.
Left to right: The model, the model's sis, the artist,
Johnny and Andy.

gawd i hate robots

Life Drawing is a subject where we learn human anatomy in detail
(I think?). We were taught about human bones and its structure, human muscles and how it works, its joints, stuff like that. And the final assignment is to draw a robot. A freekin' robot. (what?!) With a job, or a character, or a specific duty. Can you already sense that I do
NOT like robots? But I completed it anyway.
(CheaWen realises it's the
final)

My (eeeesh) boxing robot.
I have zero knowledge about robots so mine turned out to be quite childish.
Aiyak as long as it's done, I really don't mind.

I am supposed to do both the side and the back view (of my robot),
but (predictably) I only did the side view.

Then we were told to put our robots in perspective and have it interacting with another character.
So I asked my bro to put on a pained look and did this.
My robot is a boxer. So I made him wear boxing gloves. That way I don't have to worry about wrist and knuckle and finger joints! Smart~
=P =P =P

"oh my god flipflops are so uncomfortable!" -aaron

This is Aaron.
He's having problem wearing flipflops.
He says his feet hurt. A lot.

Aaron: CheaWen, would I be arrrested if I take these off and walk bare-footed?
CheaWen: No, hahah! Take it off lo!

So Aaron did exactly that.

In Pyramid, yes. =D

xiaoqing

This is a caricature of XiaoQing.
(aiyak I don't have her real face to compare)
But taa-dah!
It's done by Edmund a.k.a. VuiChuan a.k.a. skinny fella a.k.a.
guy who speaks lazily a.k.a. Edmund. =)

P.s. Qing is a good girl who calls me to make sure I hand in my assignment in time. I mean, how many people actually care enough to do that? One, I'm very sure. =)

ming tien -raided!

Really! If you've been there!
Owh. For the non-Toa-ers, MingTien is the kopitiam of my school. It's where most TOA students hang out, finish their assignment at the very last minute, do life sketches, you know.
So! MingTien was raided last Tuesday!
(it's a wonder I remember when it happened)
MingTien workers are mostly "imported". (if you get what I mean)
So suddenly, this lorry arrived.
Can you see it?

Here. Closer look.
(Aaron and I shamelessly took some photos of this lorry while pretending to walk to class from MingTien)

MingTien workers were told to squat down (no unfortunately my face wasn't thick enough to actually take a photo of that) and hand their passports over to the police officers and I was poking my nose around the economic rice stall and I saw this officer guy pulling out handcuffs! Real handcuffs! And he looked so mean.

I think more than 20 people were arrested that day.
And after that...
MingTien just looked as empty as.. As...
MingTien got empty!

This stall looked especially inviting.
Fried chicken.
Who could resist? =D

The fire in the stove wasn't even properly turned off!
Dangerous weyyy.
I kepo-ed and tried turning it off myself and panicked when the fire got bigger and switched it back again and hurried off after informing somebody about it.
I considered that as a good deed.

Hahahahahahah! =D

indian lady

Dei! I was at some kopitiam the other day, and was looking around, and this group of women really caught my attention! There were about 10 of them, all happily chatting away. Talking and listening. Listening and talking. Laughing. Aiyo-ing. Doing all the appropriate things MakCiks should do.

The thing that made me go blink-blink was, there was this Indian lady sitting among the rest of the Chinese women, talking (freekin) Mandarin! And Hokkien! Hokkien! Way more fluently than I could! My jaw literally dropped. She's one awesome MakCik I tell you.

Now why is it that I find it common for a Chinese MakCik to communicate in Bahasa Melayu with an Indian MakCik? Or a Malay MakCik speaking Bahasa Melayu to a Chinese MakCik and the Indian MakCik standing beside the Chinese MakCik replies in Bahasa Melayu as well?

And I find it totally bizarre when I see an Indian MakCik speaking perfect Mandarin to her Chinese MakCik friends?

Aww c'mon. I know you do, too. Admit it! Admit it!

sunday

If you notice, I update weekly now, thanks to the working-monitor-and-speakers-and-keyboard-and-everything-else-
but-the-cpu computer at home. And adding my 256Mb built-in memory space in my brain, I really can't remember much of my entire week, although I really wanna jot them down here. I need *kah-ching!* money weyyy! Eeeesh~

So anyway, my third sem in TOA is about to end. I'm now only two years away to becoming an awesome animator! Or so I hope. Hahah! Nah... One day at a time. Chill~

So this sem taught me to be more independent. (The fact that there isn't a XiaoQing around to nag you to complete your work) Which reminds me, just a few days ago, a phone conversation.
Wen: (Happily) AhQing!!! (That's how I greet her over the phone)
Qing: Have you submitted your work?
Wen: (Thinks to herself, "Owhmigawd garang?! Not even a "hi"?!) Yeah! I have!!
Qing: Hee~ Good.

Sounds scary huh? She's awesome. Called just to make sure I meet my deadline for submission. She's awesome. Really.
=P =P =P

Anyway, my dad! Is! One! Playful! Tak! Awesome! Punya! PakCik laa!
He hid behind the door. Waited for me to enter the living room. And freakin' shouted at me! Shouted at me! I jumped right off my skin! And he laughed and laughed and laughed! Freakin' heartless! That's Uncle Soe for you. =.="

So today, I..
Ate bak kut teh.

Yeah, that's about it.
Hahah! =D

secret valentine

It's not new anymore, but I still wanna share it with you guys. Well, some people are crazy about it. Some people are okay with it. Some find it too noisy. Others might hate it. And some don't know it even exists. But anyway, my favourite song at the moment!

Secret Valentine
by We the Kings

I love the tune. I love the beat. I love the lyrics.
I love everything about it! For the moment~ Hahah! =P

Here's the MV. I don't understand how this fella, this guy, can cope with such long hair. I mean, I myself can't handle hair this long! But I like his voice. Suits the song. And I especially like the end part where the guy, (I like the song, that doesn't equal to being a fan of the band, which explains why I don't know his name) the long blond hair lead singer guy smiles like some idiot but looks cute in a way (a cute idiot?) and I should stop crapping and you should watch this thing. =D

Soft kiss and wine
What a pretty friend of mine
We're finally intertwined
Nervous and shy for the moment
We will come alive tonight

Secret valentine

We'll write a song that turns out the lights
When both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside
Don't waste your time
Speed up your breathing
Just close your eyes
We'll hope it's not for nothing at all

Lay down be still
Don't worry talk they will
I'll be loving you until morning's first light breaks tomorrow
I'll take care of you tonight

Secret valentine

We'll write a song that turns out the lights
When both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside
Don't waste your time
Speed up your breathing
Just close your eyes
We'll hope it's not for nothing at all

When guilt fills your head
Brush off rise up from the dead
This is the moment that we will come alive
Brace yourself for love
Sweet love, secret love

We'll write a song that turns out the lights
When both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside
Don't waste your time
Speed up your breathing
Just close your eyes
We'll hope it's not for nothing at all

Secret valentine. *Smiles* ...I've one. =P

random #3

Okay I really need a computer. Nope, a CPU. That works! I need a CPU that works. I want a CPU that works. I mean, I'm paying for the internet without using it! I'm blogging using my sis's lappie. Weekends only. Eeesh~ And I want my cash from bloody Fly.fm! Eeesh~ I won like, RM 1000, can?! *Flares nostrils*

Anyway, I! Have! Finished! My! Blanket! (Visual Comm.'s final project) Hooooo!! Raaaaay!! I forgot to take a picture of it before submitting it. So I don't get to "show it off" here like Kevin said. *Blueks to Kevin!* The blanket has stains of red dye on it coz it fell off the table when I was drying the dye. So it looked as though someone *Koff!* left *Koff! Koff!* period stain on it. *Koff!*

Moving on! *Koff!* An old friend came back to Malaysia last week. Or was it the week before? Or the week before before? Doesn't matter. Anyway, we met up of course. And I only wanna point one thing out. I miss the days when we all wore dark blue pinafores and tied two ponytails to school and showed off new bags or pencil cases or mechanical pencils and boasted about how beautiful our own Mummys is and all that stuff!!! And of course, we called each other by our surnames then. Gosh~ It felt funny and weird but made me go "aww" and wanna give my friend a huge big hug when I heard her calling me "Soe". It brought back so many memories! (Though I don't remember much with my limited space built in memory) But still~!

To anyone reading this, if you have time, go dig out old photo albums and browse through. Flip each page slowly. Let your brain search your (hopefully it's bigger than mine) memory space and bring you years and years back. You'll be amazed what's in store in your memory. =)

i'm working on this

I've converted the study area downstairs into this.If you're working with lots and lotsa cloths,
you'll need space.

Borrowed this very traditional sewing machine from my aunt to help with the cloths.
It weighs around 138249 kg.

One of the many pieces of cloths.
Visual Communication's final project .

Lay them side by side to form this.
Yenadei???

Heheh~
I'll put up the real thing once it's done.
Can't wait!

But eeeeesshhh!

Damn Perspective.
I haven't even started.
And it's due the day after tomorrow.
Of course, why not.

i don't get it but i don't mind

For Life Drawing, we have to compile our research (about human anatomy) and hand it in together with the weekly life sketches (where we sketch out anything human anywhere).

I can tell you one thing; that my research is as incomplete as.. uhh.. as.. My research is very incomplete. Still I hand it in. Here are all that is in my "research folder" plus life sketches.

Some skulls.

Facial muscles.

Bones.

Spine.

Rib cage.

Skeletons making weird poses.

Some muscles on body.

More muscles on body.

More bones.

Some more bones.

Muscles on arm.

And these are my life sketches.
This is my mum playing PSP by the way.

Johnny?!

In the library.

Mamak.

Sis and dad doing gardening.

And that's it.
That is all.

I handed in all these in a cheap brown envelope.

When I got it back.

Whhuuaaa!!
I don't know why but..

I got a BRAVO!
Awesome!
Weird...
But awesome!

attention all TOA humans!!

AARON'S FINALLY GOT OVER JUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aaron: CheaWen, I'm over that whatshisface.

Wen: Omg Aaron! This is the coolest, most awesome thing you've
said this whole sem!

Aaron: *Deletes whatshisface's number from his phone*

Wen: Why do you need to do that? I mean, you've already memorized the numbers.

Aaron: I don't fell anything anymore. The only reason I wanted to be friends with him is because I like him. But now, he's the most boring person on earth.

Wen: Whuaa! Whuaaa!! This is awesome!!
*Whacks the steering wheel*

Aaron: But ohhh... CheaWen's-not-allowed-to-mention-that-guy's-name is soooo cute!

(CheaWen's-not-allowed-to-mention-that-guy's-name is a guy in his class)

Wen: =.=" Owh...

Aaron: The other day, Trish and I saw his pencil case. And it was the cutest! Bobdog! And and and...!
*Continues to talk about CheaWen's-not-allowed-to-mention-that-guy's-name*

Wen: So the good news is, Aaron's over Jun. The not-so-good news is, Aaron's into another guy.

Well, are you guys happy to hear that?
I know I am.
(For now, maybe)
Hahahahahahah!!
